Warner got his name from a moniker by a drunk girl during a party. Worn-Tin hails from the city of Santa Monica in the state of California. He records all of his music in his backyard shed, focusing mostly on analog recording techniques and adhering to the rigorous rule of "If I can't Play it, I can't Lay It." He writes songs from an aged heart as a multi-instrumentalist, referencing past trauma and experiences.
He is deeply affected by a simple, familiar face from the high school theatrical department, the happy-sad face. Warner spent his childhood dreaming of becoming a stand-up comedian, performing in improv and open mic evenings, and even exploring clown college. He quickly discovered that music was his outlet, and he thrived there.
It became clear that outgoing, bumbling people like himself were frequently melancholy or burdened by deep emotions. This intrigue turned into a celebration as I fell in love with the notion of composing sorrowful lyrics for joyful songs and putting on goofy live presentations that felt like I was in a circus. Worn-Tin concerts have a reputation for being chaotic.
