Wings and Wheels Information
Dunsfold Park established Wings & Wheels in 2005 to commemorate the rich heritage of British aviation and motorsport while assisting many charities in their fundraising efforts.
With the 15th show, they’ve cemented their place on the airshow and event calendar, with reviewers hailing the show as “the best airshow in the country.” The show has also grown from a one-day performance to a two-day show, with a 5,000-person crowd to a 40,000-person audience. They grew into more than just an airshow, with a great automotive lineup, military demonstrations, and good old-fashioned family entertainment.
Wings and Wheels is a small group. Their core team works part-time on the event and manages everything in-house with the help of three external consultancies: one for air show negotiations, another for traffic and parking management, and an infrastructure team that handles health and safety. Throughout the year, they accept work-study students and volunteers to assist with administration. The show has over 200 volunteers on hand during the Show weekend. Wings & Wheels also pays tribute to Dunsfold Aerodrome’s past.
