Wheeler Walker Jr. is an American musician, actor, writer, and comedian. Under the alias Wheeler Walker, Jr., Hoffman has published four obscenely vulgar country music albums. His 2016 debut album, Redneck Shit, was the first album in almost a decade to debut in the top ten of the Billboard Hot Country Albums and Billboard Top Comedy Albums charts. Hoffman was successful with streaming and social media despite having little to no airplay on FM radio.
The racy nature of Hoffman's lyrics and subjects has produced a polarizing response to his music. As some have put it, Wheeler Walker, Jr. is "a platform to speak out against censorship and bias in the music industry" and "an experiment in free speech." Hoffman has been very open about how he uses the persona to comment on the current state of country music and, more specifically, the growth of the bro-country subgenre.
Sex, Drugs, and Country Music was his fourth studio album, released on April 15, 2022. It was the first to enter iTunes' top spot and the second on Billboard's Comedy Albums chart.
