We Banjo 3 is an Irish band from Galway, Ireland. The current lineup of the group consists of Enda Scahill (banjo, mandolin, and tenor guitar), Martin Howley (banjo, mandolin, and tenor guitar), David Howley (banjo, vocals, and guitar), and Fergal Scahill (fiddle, guitar, and bodhran). The band plays a blend of traditional Irish, bluegrass, and old-time music. We Banjo 3 released its debut album entitled Roots of the Banjo Tree in 2012. The album was named by The Irish Times as “Traditional Music Album of the Year.” In 2014, the group came up with another album entitled Gather the Good.
All the band members of We Banjo 3 are highly successful musicians in their competitive music field. The band played for US President Barack Obama and Taoiseach Enda Kenny in 2016 at the annual “Friends of Ireland” luncheon. It was held in Washington, DC, around Saint Patrick’s Day. Fergal embarked on a challenge in 2017 to record a tune a day for the whole year. His recording videos were posted on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. They became popular worldwide in no time. Some of the other notable albums released by We Banjo 3 include Live in Galway (2015), String Theory (2016), and Haven (2018).
