Jennifer Lee (January 26, 1988) is professionally known as Tokimonsta (stylized as TOKiMONSTA). She is an American record producer, as well as a DJ from Los Angeles. She deals in instrumental hip hop and electronic music genres. Jennifer Lee is of Korean descent and graduated from the University of California, Irvine (business degree). She also worked for a video game producer later on. Lee was a classically trained pianist. While being a college student, she used to work on electronic music and also participated in various workshops by Low-End Theory and Leimert Park's Project Blowed.
Lee began her official career when she received an invitation to attend the Red Bull Music Academy in London (2010). She was the very first woman who signed to sign to Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label. From this label, her first album released in November 2010 entitled; Midnight Menu. Lee, in December 2010, was also rated the number one Hottest Los Angeles Lady DJ by LA Weekly.
Some of the other discographies under the same label by Lee are the EP, Creature Dreams (2011), and Boom (11-track collaborative project with Suzi Analogue). The later music by Lee was released on Ultra Records, including her second album, Half Shadows (2013), and on her own Young Art Records; Desiderium (2014), solo album Fovere, Lune Rouge (2017), Oasis Nocturno (2020), and a few more.
Lee also released many hit extended plays such as Bedtime Lullabies (2008), Cosmic Intoxication (2010), Creature Dreams (2011), You're Invited (2015), etc. A few of her favorite singles are "USD / Free Dem" (2010), "Mileena's Theme" (2011), Darkest (Dim)" (2012), "Put It Down" (2015), "I Wish I Could" (2018), and the list goes on.
Jennifer Lee was nominated for the Grammy Award for the category of Best Dance / Electronic Album (Lune Rouge) in the year 2019.
