Samuel Timothy McGraw (May 1, 1967) is an American actor, record producer, country singer, and songwriter born in Start, Louisiana. McGraw is the son of former Major League Baseball pitcher Tug McGraw. He has been married to singer Faith Hill since 1996. McGraw picked up the guitar and sang for tips frequently at university. He claims his roommates frequently concealed the guitar from him due to his terrible playing.
When McGraw's mother moved back to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1987, he followed suit. After relocating, he spent one semester at Florida Community College in Jacksonville and occasionally performed with area bands.
During his show at the Nugget Events Center in Sparks, Nevada, on October 9, 2021, McGraw was heckled by a fan because he messed up the lyrics to his song "Just to See You Smile." He then begged the audience for assistance in recalling the phrases, saying that he had been making a movie and had a lot on his mind.
McGraw made his acting debut as Foxworthy's competitor in an episode of The Jeff Foxworthy Show. McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliot star in '1883,' a spinoff prequel to Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone television series that came out in late 2021.
