The Wailers Information
The Wailers are a reggae band that was formed by the remaining members from Bob Marley & the Wailers. Before the death of Bob Marley in 1981, Bob Markey & the Wailers began as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Livingston. The more recent lineup of the band consists of Aston "Family Man" Barrett (bass), Aston Barrett Jr. (drums), Junior Marvin (vocals and lead guitar), Donald Kinsey (lead guitar), Own "Dreadie" Reid (bass guitar), Josh David Barrett (lead vocals), Javaughn Bond (keyboards), and Shema McGregor (vocals).
After the death of Bob Marley, The Wailers' leadership was taken over by Aston Barrett and Junior Marvin. They continued to perform a hefty worldwide touring schedule. The band released their first studio album entitled I.D. in 1989. The group members departed from the band, but in 2015, they reunited the past members by Familyman Barrett and performed in India for the first time in 2015. Additionally, performances that occurred in South America included past members such as Tyrone Downie, Al Anderson, and Barrett.
The Wailers have released studio albums including Majestic Warriors (1991), and JAH Message (1994). They have also released several live albums, including Legend Tour (1984), Lives On (1995), My Friends (1997), Live at Maritime Hall (1999), Live in Jamaica (2001), Live (2003), and Legend Live (2006). The Wailers have also worked on a few guest singles as well, such as featuring Kenny Chesney for his single "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" from the album "Lucky Old Sun" and Mohamed Mounir's "Al Leila Ya Samra" from "Arabic Studio.
