The Seshen Information
The Seshen is an American six-piece band that consists of Lalin St. Juste on vocals, Aki Ehara on bass, Chris Thalmann on drums, Mahesh Rao on keyboards, Mirza Kopelman on percussion, and Kumar Butler as a sequencer. The band originated from the San Francisco Bay Area, and its music is defined as electro-pop and soul. The Seshen has written a handful of their hits, among which; the most notable one is Seshen's last record, "Flames and Figures."
CYAN was another album that was released on February 28, 2020, and Tru Thoughts as another album. The sound of the album is stated to be the band's most vulnerable, compelling work to date.
Anchored by St. Juste's smooth and silvery vocals, which are more frequently compared to that of Erykah Badu, and danceable rhythms from producer/bassist Akiyoshi Ehara, they create hits. The music pulls from a deep well of electronic, R&B, influences, and indie rock. With the help of the other members, they are known to blend live and digital instrumentation for a mercurial, transportive sound.
Since 2012, the live show by the group has earned the members critical acclaim as well as a dedicated fanbase on multiple continents. The Seshen's have shared stages with the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, tUnE-yArDs, PetiteNoir, and Thundercat.
