The Postal Service Information
The Postal Service is an American indie pop band from Seattle, Washington. Jenny Lewis sings background music, and Ben Gibbard is the lead singer.
The band's sole studio album, 2003's Give Up, was released on Sub Pop Records to generally good reviews. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA and peaked at No. 114 on the US Billboard 200 album chart. The group broke up two years later because they didn't see the need to continue.
On both the 2013 and 2023 Give Up anniversaries, the band reunited with a different lineup of backing musicians, such as Laura Burhenn, Jen Wood, and Dave Depper.
A reunion tour by The Postal Service, co-headlining with Death Cab for Cutie, kicked off in late summer of 2023, as revealed on December 8, 2022. In commemorating the 20th anniversary of both albums, The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie announced that they would be playing Give Up and Transatlanticism.
There were seventeen performances in the original tour. On the other hand, eight more events were added, including second nights in places like Washington DC, Berkeley, Los Angeles, and New York City due to overwhelming demand.
