The Maine Information
The Maine is an American rock band based in Tempe, Arizona. It was formed in 2007 by drummer Patrick Kirch and bassist Garrett Nickelsen. They started taking auditions to grow their team and ended up adding guitarists, Ryan Osterman and Alex Ross, and singer John O’Callaghan. After adding up all the required members, the band finally formed and entered the music stream in January 2007.
The Maine released their first EP entitled “Stay Up, Get Down”. A few months later, Kennedy Brock joined the group after the departure of Ryan Osterman, and Jared Monaco replaced Alex Rose. After signing with the label Fearless Records, The Maine released their first five-song EP on December 11, 2007, called “The Way We Talk”. It was produced by Matt Grabe.
In summer 2008, before The Maine toured with Boys Like Girls and Good Charlotte, the band released their first full-length album called “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop,” produced by Matt Squire. Their next EP was released in December 2008 titled “And A Happy New Year”. This EP was produced by Matt Grabe, as well. The Maine released their second full-length album under the production of Howard Benson on July 13, 2010, called “Black and White”.
The Maine have released several other full-length albums, including Pioneer (2011), Forever Halloween (2013), American Candy (2015), Lovely Little Lonely (2017), and You Are OK (2019).
The Maine has won several awards since they are active including AP Magazine Readers’ Awards for the categories “Album of the Year (for Black & White),” “Best Song (for “Inside of You”), and “Best Live Band (The Maine)” in 2010.
