The Dover Quartet Information
The Dover Quartet is considered a remarkably talented string quartet from America that emerged at such a young age. The quartet was founded in 2008, and its music is defined as classical. The current lineup of the group consists of Camden Shaw on cello, Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt on viola, as well as Joel Link and Bryan Lee on violins. The quartet is currently located in Philadelphia, PA.
The members of the Dover Quartet have appeared as soloists with some of the world’s finest orchestras. This includes the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic. They have studied with such renowned chamber musicians, including Arnold Steinhardt, Joseph Silverstein, Shmuel Ashkenasi, and Peter Wiley. The members were also the Quartet-in-Residence at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music (until May 2013). The Dover Quartet is also an active member of Music for Food, which is an initiative by many musicians to help fight hunger in their home communities.
In 2013 the Dover Quartet won the Grand Prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition along with three other special prizes. It also has been named the first Quartet-in-Residence for the 2013-14 season at the respected Curtis Institute of Music and the Ernst Stiefel String Quartet-In-Residence at the Caramoor Festival. The quartet has taken part in festivals such as Artosphere, La Jolla SummerFest, Chamber Music Northwest, and the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. The summer of 2013 featured performances by the Dover Quartet at the Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, Bard Festival, Chamber Music Northwest, and a few more.
