Ryan Gustafson is a multi-instrumentalist and producer who also happens to be a singer-songwriter through his side project, The Dead Tongues. Music critics have called his work "folk-fusion," he's been releasing albums under the pseudonym since 2013. The likes of Sarah Jarosz, The Wood Brothers, Daughter of Swords, and River Whyless are among the artists he has shared the stage with on tour. Some of the biggest music festivals in the world, including FESTY and Hopscotch, have included him in their lineups.
Little Lies, Dust, Pawnshop Dollar Bills, and Road to Heaven are just a few hits in his extensive discography. Several albums, such as Desert (2013), Montant (2016), Unsung Passage (2018), and Transmigration Blues (2020), have also been issued under his name. He has around 30,000 Instagram followers and 390,000 monthly Spotify listeners. Several of his songs, including "Ebb and Flow," have been played over five million times on the service. Two of his songs, including "Pale November Dew," have been listened to over 13 million times.
