The Dan Band is an American comedy band that was founded by comedian and actor Dan Finnerty. The band is well-known for its covers of female voices. The group became famous by Finnerty's appearance in films such as The Hangover and Old School.
The current lineup of the Dan Band consists of Dan Finnerty (lead vocals), Gene Reed (backing vocals), John Kozeluh (backing vocals), Matt Pollock (backing vocals), Byron Thames/Richard Maheux (keyboard), Mark Cocheo/Aurelien Budynek/Marc Strommer (guitar), Einar Pedersen/Brett Bass (bass), and Jason Mills/Jimi Engund/Ivan Delaforce (drums).
The Dan Band released its debut full-length live album entitled "The Dan Band Live" in 2005. They gained massive attention due to the expletive-heavy version "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler. The band members also sang their cover versions of "Mickey" by Toni Basil, "Milkshake" by Kelis, and "Lady" by Styx. The band filmed a one-hour concert special called "Dan Finnerty & The Dan Band: I Am Woman," directed by McG and produced by Steven Spielberg.
The Dan Band has appeared on several shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Last Call with Carson Daly, The Late Late Show, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
