Sugarland Information
Sugarland is an American country music duo that was founded in Atlanta, Georgia (2002). The current duo members include Kristian Bush (vocals, guitar, mandolin) and singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles (lead vocals). Kristen Hall (vocals, guitar) was also one of the founders of the group, but she left after the first album. The music of the duo is described as the country genre.
Sugarland initially played frequently at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, Georgia. The debut album by the duo was named Twice the Speed of Life, which was released on October 26, 2004. "Baby Girl" was the lead-off single related to the band that peaked at number 2 on the charts of the Billboard Hot Country Songs. It also set the record for the longest chart run, which was since the inception of Nielsen SoundScan (1990). Some of the other successful singles in the same album are "Something More," "Down in Mississippi (Up to No Good)," and "Just Might (Make Me Believe)."
Some of the other studio albums by Sugarland are Enjoy the Ride (November 7, 2006), Love on the Inside (July 29, 2008), Gold and Green (October 13, 2009), The Incredible Machine (October 19, 2010), and Bigger (June 8, 2018). Sugarland also released a compilation album called The Very Best of Sugarland (2014). Live on the Inside is the live album by the duo, which was released on August 4, 2009.
Sugarland won one American Music Award in 2005, six Country Music Association Awards, four CMT Music Awards, and two Grammy Awards. For the nominations, Sugarland earned four nominations in American Country Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, and many more.
