DeAndre Cortez Way (July 28, 1990), also known as Soulja Boy (previously Soulja Boy Tell 'Em), is an American rapper and record producer from Atlanta, Georgia. After his self-released 2007 debut song, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)," topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven non-consecutive weeks.
Way released songs and two mixtapes throughout 2019; the first, Fuego, was released on January 10, and the second, Tell Ya, on March 25. Way said on January 18, 2019, he was working on his fifth studio album, How Can You Blame Me? (formerly Blessed), which is scheduled for release on July 28.
Following his increasing popularity as a Twitch broadcaster, Way released the mixtape King Soulja 9 on July 28, 2020, and additional songs later in 2020. Way started releasing many tracks like Pandemic and CEO at the beginning of 2021 after releasing the mixtape Swag 3 in late November 2020. Way debuted Soulja World, a mixtape with regular collaborator Lil B, on February 1, 2021. Soulja Boy got a record contract with Virgin Music in April 2021.
