Abderraouf Derradji (December 10, 1989) is an Algerian rapper and singer. He was born in El Hammamet, Algiers, and is professionally known by his stage name, Soolking. His dad was a drummer and exposed him to music and dance early. After moving to France in 2008, he returned to his native Algeria to join the rap group Africa Jungle.
Sofiane, the founder of the record label Affranchis Music, signed Soolking to the label in 2016 when he started as a solo artist. He first found popularity with the songs "Milano" and "Guérilla," but his breakthrough came with "Dalida," an ode to Dalida that sampled the singer's "Paroles, paroles." Soolking's self-titled debut solo album dropped on November 2, 2018, and was certified Gold in France. Both Guérilla and Dalida were Platinum-certified singles.
