Something Corporate Information
Something Corporate, commonly known as SoCo, is an American rock ensemble from Laguna Niguel, Orange County, California, formed in 1998. Brian Ireland on drums, Josh Partington and Bobby Anderson on guitars, Kevin Page on bass, and Andrew McMahon on vocals and piano were the members of their previous lineup. Something Corporate created demos after forming, including them on their independent studio album Ready... Break. They were signed to MCA Records shortly after, but their debut EP, Audioboxer, was released under the Drive-Thru Records brand.
On the Alternative Songs list, their first single, "If You C Jordan," peaked at position 29, making it their most successful track. Leaving Through the Window (2002) was their debut album under the major label, and it debuted on June 8, 2002, at Number 1/Hot Shot Debut on the Billboard Top Heatseekers list. In 2004, Something Corporate took a break from music and severed ties with their record labels. McMahon's side venture, Jack's Mannequin, was a smashing success throughout the break. At a Jack's Mannequin performance in October 2006, Something Corporate reunited for a brief set.
Something Corporate formally reunited in 2009, scheduled a 2010 tour and released a greatest hits album in December 2009. During the band's ten years, McMahon stated they had sold over one million albums during a visit to Milwaukee on August 3, 2010. House of Blues in Anaheim, California, was the site of a surprise performance by the band on September 9, 2022, in celebration of McMahon's 40th birthday. Joining fans in celebrating the new year, the band reunited for a reunion and headline performance at Anaheim, California's City National Grove, on December 31, 2023.
