Sierra Noble Information
Sierra Dawn Sky Noble (February 20, 1990) is a Canadian fiddle player, singer, and songwriter. She was born in Ottawa, Ontario. Starting in kindergarten, Sierra went to École Laura Secord School, and then she moved on to Wolseley School for years 5 and 6. They went to and graduated from Gordon Bell High School. Still, for grades 10 and 11, they received full scholarships to attend The University of Winnipeg Collegiate, courtesy of Lloyd Axworthy, president of the University of Winnipeg.
Initially, Sierra Noble was a busker in Winnipeg's famous The Forks. Sierra, at 12 years old, was named the Campaign to Ban Landmines in Manitoba's Youth Ambassador. In this role, they initiated talks at tertiary institutions on the worldwide landmine problem. They were one of Canada's two delegates to the 2004 International Children's Conference to Ban Landmines.
The December 2008 release of Sierra's "Possibilities" on MapleMusic Recordings featured vocals by the band and was produced by Bill Bell of Toronto. Co-written by Noble, Chris Burke-Gaffney, and Keith Macpherson, "Possibility" was the album's lead single and a hit in Canada, where it was played on both pop and country radio and where its music video topped the charts on MuchMore and the Canadian Music Television (CMT) Cross Canada Countdown.
