Kisean Paul Anderson (February 3, 1990) is an American-Jamaican singer and rapper known by his stage name, Sean Kingston. When Kingston was six years old, his family relocated to Kingston, Jamaica. Before returning to the United States, Kingston attended Ocho Rios High School in Ocho Rios for three years. Lawrence Lindo was a well-known Jamaican reggae producer who went by the stage name Jack Ruby.
Matt Tobin of Beluga Heights Records discovered Kingston on YouTube and signed him to the company in a Sony collaboration contract. J. R. Rotem, the label's head and producer, outlined this method in an interview with HitQuarters. Kingston released the single "Beautiful Girls" in May 2007 as a joint venture between Epic Records and Koch Records. The single reached one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Internationally, "Beautiful Girls" was a hit.
Kingston served as the opening act for Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape Tour and Beyoncé's The Beyoncé Experience tour in 2007. He was an opening performer for Kelly Clarkson's My December Tour in Australia in 2008. On September 22, 2009, the album Tomorrow was released. Former Fugee Wyclef Jean, RedOne, and Sean's original instructor, J. R. Rotem, were among the album's producers.
