Savannah Philharmonic is one of the professional orchestras that presents a full range of concerts each season, ranging from pop to classic. The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra was founded and debuted in January 2009. The orchestra debuted under conductor Peter Shannon, with a mission to perform and promote the appreciation of excellent music across the greater Savannah community. Keitaro Harada is the Music & Artistic Director of the orchestra.
The Savannah Philharmonic Chorus is known to be a community-based auditioned ensemble that works with the orchestra in an oratorio and opera set regularly. They perform a wide range of music from acapella Baroque to pop standards and rock. The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra performs concerts in Savannah, Georgia, starting from September to May.
For the 2015-2016 season of The Savannah Philharmonic Chorus, over 100,000 tickets were sold. In 2019, conductor Keitaro Harada was hired as its new music and artistic director. Harada knows how to maintain a growing international presence throughout Mexico, North America, Asia, and Europe. The central vision behind Savannah Philharmonic is to be one of the most dynamic and engaging orchestral and choral groups in America. Not only this, but to be regarded as an essential musical, cultural, and educational asset to the community.
