Santa Rosa Symphony Information
From October through May, the award-winning 80-member orchestra, under the direction of energetic Music Director Francesco Lecce-Chong, plays seven triple sets of its classical concerts in the world-class Weill Hall at the Green Music Center. Francesco Lecce-Chong, a rising star in the conducting field, is in his second season with the Santa Rosa Symphony.
Banjo innovator Béla Fleck will perform his Juno Concerto, piano legend Garrick Ohlsson will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, the SSU Symphonic Chorus will perform Mozart's Requiem, and celebrated pianist Natasha Paremski will perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 in the upcoming 2019–2020 season. The Symphony's website has the full schedule for Francesco Lecce-Chong's Classical Series concerts, which feature more works by Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Copland, Mussorgsky, Saint-Sans, Sibelius, and two world premieres.
A free community concert, a series of Saturday afternoon dress rehearsals, and an economical three-concert Family Series on Sunday afternoons are among popular Santa Rosa Symphony activities that reach a diverse audience at the acoustically exquisite Weill Hall. In a four-concert series, the Symphony presents its "Symphony Pops" at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts. Every year, 30,000 students participate in the Symphony's extensive music education programs.
