Sam Lachow Information
Sam Lachow is multitalented, working as a music and video editor, director, producer, composer, and rapper. He is touring to support "5 Good Reasons," a collaborative EP he recently released with Raz Simone. The entire EP was produced by Lachow and his creative collaborator Maggie Brown, who recruited musicians from Seattle and New York to play live instruments. Several up-and-coming Seattle musicians are appearing on this project and his earlier releases, the albums "Brand New Bike" and "Avenue Music," all of which are available for free streaming and download on his website.
Since he was in the third grade, Lachow has been producing films, and in the seventh grade, he formed a group called Shankbone. This Seattle band has built a devoted following with five albums and dozens of live performances. After his initial work with Shankbone, Lachow moved on to direct and produce music videos for a wide range of other Seattle-based musicians.
Lachow, who grew up in Seattle and New York City, attended and graduated from Seattle's Garfield High School in 2009. After a year at SUNY New Paltz, he transferred to New York City College. With his video production job for Shankbone, Lachow also works on his creative endeavors.
