Rodney Allan Atkins (March 28, 1969) is an American country music singer and songwriter. In 1997, after signing with Curb Records in 1996, his first song appeared on the Billboard country chart. It wasn't until 2003 that he finally released an album, Honesty, which had the smash hit "Honesty (Write Me a List)."
"Honesty (Write Me a List)," the No. 1 song on his first album, Honesty. Following his debut album in 2006, Rodney released his second record, If You're Going Through Hell, which likewise made the music charts and was finally certified platinum. Like many greats, crafting the finest music requires investigation and patience; Rodney is no exception.
His acoustics and confidence have drawn a passionate and loving following. Though he only has five studio albums, he was voted the Top New Male Vocalist at the 2006 Academy of Country Music Awards and has received many nominations and critical praise. In 2018, Atkins debuted a new tune called "Caught Up in the Country" with the Fisk Jubilee Singers on backup vocals.
