Rise Against Information
Rise Against is a Chicago-based American punk music band that came together in 1999. With Tim McIlrath on vocals and rhythm guitar, Zach Blair on lead guitar, Joe Principe on bass, and Brandon Barnes on drums, the band is currently performing. Two studio albums, The Unraveling (2001) and Revolutions per Minute (2003), were released during the band's first four years on the independent record label Fat Wreck Chords.
Speculation of a new Rise Against album started circulating in early 2021 when the band started sharing mysterious videos on social media. On March 17, 2021, Nowhere Generation was announced due to these videos. They dropped the title track as the second single in addition to "Broken Dreams, Inc." on the tracklist.
The band's record was supported by a summer U.S. tour, with opening sets by the Descendents and The Menzingers. Senses Fail, Pennywise, Stick To Your Guns, Billy Talent, and The Used all had extensive tours in 2022. The other five were later published in 2022 as Nowhere Generation II, an extended play that serves as the album's continuation. An official announcement and single, "Last Man Standing," dropped on June 6, 2022, followed by the EP's June 8 release.
