Rhonda Vincent (July 13, 1962) is an American bluegrass multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Vincent has been performing music for over forty years, starting as a little girl with her family's band, The Sally Mountain Show. In the 1970s and 1980s, Vincent initially found popularity in bluegrass music, where she gained the admiration of her male contemporaries for her command of the genre's characteristically fast-paced, multi-range voice and advanced chord structures.
Vincent's influence in the bluegrass music scene was solidified with the release of her seminal bluegrass record, "Back Home Again," on Rounder Records. Her impact was further recognized when "The Wall Street Journal" hailed her as the New Queen of Bluegrass in 2000. Vincent's dominance in the genre was evident from 2000 to 2006, during which she clinched an unprecedented seven consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year honors from the International Bluegrass Music Association. Her other accolades include a 2017 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album, Entertainer of the Year in 2001, Song of the Year in 2004, and more.
Working with Dolly Parton on the 2018 Elton John/Bernie Taupin Tribute Project "Restoration" demonstrates how her powerful singing style goes beyond bluegrass music. The Grand Ole Opry invited her to join on February 28, 2020.
