Recondite Information
Recondite is a German sound artist, label owner, musician, and techno producer. His original name is Lorenz Brunner. The rustic upbringing in which Brunner took part is generally cited as a major influence on his work. His work is influenced by nature, the Lower Bavarian scenery, and the people living there. The artist and his alter ego, "Recondite," share this quality.
Brunner's earliest recordings were made in this environment, in a makeshift studio he set up in his house. In 2009, after this initial burst of musical inspiration, the young producer upped and relocated to Berlin. Plangent Records was established in 2011 by Brunner, who also released music as Recondite. The initial four-song EP (PLAN 001) was met with overwhelmingly enthusiastic responses on a domestic and international scale. Recondite's debut performance was in Berlin's Panorama Bar/Berghain the same year. After increased concert requests at home and abroad, he released more music on his label and Scuba's Label, hot flush.
The album On Acid, released by the American label Absurd Recordings in 2012, brought more notice to Recondite. Those songs, influenced by standard acid sounds, added a new dimension to Brunners' musical variety. According to critics, Brunner put his spin on a well-known acid and made an "extremely listenable" album.
