Radio Romance Information
Radio Romance is an American country rock band that brings a youthful, party-loving energy to the hook-friendly, harmonic, and upbeat Nashville scene. The group was formed in Hermitage, Tennessee, in 2011 by three friends; Moises Padilla (drums), Josh Gramling (guitar), and Sam Hayes (vocals). Together they had been honing their instruments from a young age. The group’s songs are mostly influenced by acts such as Jason Aldean, Eric Church, and Alabama. The trio started performing throughout Nashville during their early years as a cover band.
Soon, Radio Romance decided to become an official band and took the moniker from the 1982 album of Eddie Rabbit of the same name. The group released its debut EP entitled “What’s Stopping You (Treehouse)” in 2014. The next year, they released the B-Sides collection. The band hired a permanent bassist, Adam Smithwick, and released notable singles, including “Cheap Beer Years” and “Secrets.” The group’s first EP was “Sounds of a Quiet Town (HYGB Records),” which they issued in 2017. Radio Romance also received a major industry boost when they won the grand prize for the NASHNext competition.
Radio Romance eventually signed with major label record Big Machine Records, home to Taylor Swift, Sugarland, and Midland. The band released its first single on the major label in 2018 entitled “Weekend.”
