Bradshaw has spent a lot of time in recent years writing about geography, regionalism, and local history, and with North Georgia Rounder, he has maintained this trend.
As the name of the album implies, however, it is also about the experiences of a traveling musician—drinking in bars, riding in vans, sleeping on the floor, making new friends, etc. Bradshaw discusses his desire for structure and the tension that arises from spending so much time away from home. But, he continued, "stories need to be told, and I've wiggled my way into a position to tell a few."
