Ohmme Information
OHMME is an American rock band that is based in Chicago, Illinois, and was formerly known as Homme. The current lineup of the band includes Sima Cunningham (keyboards, guitar, and vocals), Macie Stewart (keyboards, bass, violin, guitar, and vocals), and Matt Carroll (drums). Cunningham and Stewart attended Whitney Young Magnet High School. Stewart sang and played in Kids These Days, of which Vic Mensa was a member, while she was studying in high school. The group has worked with only one record label throughout its career, and that is Joyful Noise.
According to Cunningham, the band started because they knew they could sing well together and wanted to make some music with the guitar. Both Cunningham and Stewart were trained as classical pianists and familiar with the scope of sonic spaces keyboards. Since January 2016, OHMME has been touring nationally and internationally and played in the Pitchfork Music Festival. The group has also toured with The Ophelias, Tortoise, The Joy Formidable, Iron & Wine, and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco.
On November 13, 2015, OHMME released their debut single entitled “Furniture.” Since the release of its debut, the band has been releasing their fantastic work with some of the notable studio albums by the group being Parts (2018) and Fantasize Your Ghost (2020). The band released their EP entitled “S/T a.k.a. OHMME” in 2017.
