Nick Carter (January 28, 1980) is an American singer born in Jamestown, New York. When his mother overheard Carter singing and acting outside, she put him in vocal lessons with Marianne Prinkey, launching Carter's acting and singing career. Karl & DiMarco's School of Theatre and Dance was where she enrolled him in ballet, tap, and hip-hop classes when he was ten years old. He is most notable recognized as a member of the boy band group Backstreet Boys.
Speculation about Carter's participation in the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars, which premiered on September 14, 2015, began on August 26, 2015. He was paired with Sharna Burgess, a professional dancer. Ultimately, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough took first and second, while Carter and Burgess were runner-up. Live from his All-American CD, he sang "I Will Wait" during the conclusion.
Carter co-hosted the June 2017 episode of Boy Band, a singing competition show, with Emma Bunton and Timbaland. Carter appeared on Season 4 of The Masked Singer in 2020 dressed as the "Crocodile" and placed third.
On one episode of "Chanteurs Masques," the Canadian version of "The Masked Singer," Carter (this time as a Sphynx cat) performed a fantastic cover of "Alone" by Heart and ended the show with a rendition of "I Want It That Way." The performance set a new record for viewers, with over 2 million tuning in to see Carter and the group perform.
