Neil Berg Information
Neil Berg is one of the Award-Winning American composers/lyricists who is best known for the Broadway musical entitled The Prince and the Pauper and another ward-Winning rock musical "THE 12" along with Grumpy Old Men: The Musical. Neil studied Piano/musical composition along with Robert Printz, Walter Ponce, and Sue Peters. He is also a product of The BMI Workshop, which is mentored by Maury Yeston and Skip Kennon.
Berg is also the creator and co-producer of Neil Berg's "100 Years of Broadway. It is a Broadway concert tour that has performed over 100 shows per year since 2006. He was also the lead Producer as well as the driving force of the Award Winning Off-Broadway revival named Closer Than Ever, of Maltby and Shire (2013). He is currently the composer/co-lyricist of the Award Winning new rock musical The 12; the hit Off-Broadway musical The Prince and the Pauper, Grumpy Old Men: The Musical (composer), and a few more.
Neil also created a holiday musical named Tim and Scrooge, with a book and lyrics by Nick Meglin. Some of his other musicals include The Man Who Would Be King, Hexed in the City, Heidi. Neil was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his artistry and dedication to community service. This included providing help to raise over $20 million for the homeless youth at Covenant House via his Broadway Concerts. He was also honored with the Distinguished Citizen's Award, The American Red Cross Man of the Year 2011, and Artist of the Year by the Arts Council of Rockland County. He was honored again in the year 2003 by The United Hospice Foundation.
