Mr Big Information
Mr. Big is an American rock band. The current lineup includes Eric Martin, Billy Sheehan, Paul Gilbert, and Nick D'Virgilio. Many people point to Mr. Big as an example of what is known as the "Big in Japan" phenomenon, which occurs when a musical act has a far larger fan base in Japan than other comparable groups. While Mr. Big's "To Be with You" may have been their only hit, the band has continued to succeed steadily in Japan's music industry.
Sheehan announced in August 2022 that the band was "strongly considering" performing in 2023, with Matt Starr making a triumphant return as drummer. But he said in a subsequent interview that the band had decided to part ways with Starr because Torpey's "vocal range" wasn't compatible with Starr's. Sheehan continued by saying the band's new drummer would be announced soon.
Sheehan's assertions in 2022 about Mr. Big's potential reunion for a tour and new music in 2023 were met with anticipation and excitement. Despite the uncertainty, the band's commitment to their fans was unwavering. As Martin was questioned in November 2022, the band's determination to fulfill their promises was evident. They will most certainly go on tour. Nick D'Virgilio was named as Mr. Big's new touring drummer for 2023-24 'The Big Finish Tour' in March of that year. In a surprising turn of events, Martin verified in November 2023 that the band had been composing new songs for their upcoming effort, reaffirming their commitment to their fans.
