Mike Zito Information
Mike Zito (November 19, 1970) is an American singer, guitarist, songwriter, and record producer from St. Louis, Missouri. He is best known as the co-founder of Royal Southern Brotherhood, featuring Yonrico Scott, Charlie Wooton, Devon Allman, and Cyril Neville. Zito began singing at the age of five, and when he reached his teens, he had already begun his music career in the St. Louis area scene. He made his international debut through the Eclecto Groove label in 2008. He also released records on his label, touring regionally, and performed some notable national dates.
Zito released his debut album in 2006 entitled “Superman.” His first major-label album was “Today” in 2008. “Today” was produced by David Z. Zito, and he released his second CD on Eclecto Groove in 2009, entitled “Pearl River.” The CD was recorded in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Piety Street Studios. The album featured Johnny Sansone, Lynwood Slim, Susan Cowsill, Reese Wynans, Anders Osborne, and Cyril Neville.
Mike Zito signed his next record deal with Ruf Records and released Gone to Texas. It was a deep and personal CD that was dedicated to the state. His hit “Roll On” from the album Greyhound was featured on Sons of Anarchy of FX hits series in 2012.
Zito’s other notable albums include Blue Room (2018), America’s Most Wanted, Keep Coming Back (2015), Greyhound (2011), Live From the Top (2010), Songs from the Road (2014), Blues Caravan Live 2018 (2018), Make Blues Not War (2016), Rock ‘n’ Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry (2019), First Class Life (2018), and Quarantine Blues (2020).
