Mempho Fest is one of the popular American music festivals. The first-ever Mempho Fest was held with its two-day lineup in October 2017. It is also known as the first major music festival that was held at Shelby Farms Park. In 2017, the headliners who appeared at the event included Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, and guitarist Jason Isbell. He headlined the festival along with his band, The 400 Unit. Other famous headliners include Cage the Elephant (another Grammy award-winning rock band), singer, songwriter, and rapper Anderson Paak along with his band The Free Nationals. The festival’s second day is fully dedicated to Memphis’ musical heritage, giving a special tribute to Booker T Jones and Steve Cropper.
Mempho Fest also features a wide range of drinks and food vendors for the attendees, offering Mempho barbecue, craft beer, and much more. The festival founders have stated their intentions to make Mempho Fest an enduring part of the city’s cultural scene. They also aim to bring its lineup blending of the best contemporary music with homages to Memphis’s unmatched heritage known as the home to the blues. The venue, Shelby Farm Park, has around 4,500 acres of land to accommodate many people attending the festival every year.
