Matt Fax Information
David Cienkanski (December 14, 1996) is a French record producer and electronic music DJ professionally known by his stage name, Matt Fax. After launching his career in 2009, Fax quickly succeeded because of the backing of prominent DJs and musicians, including Depeche Mode, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, and Gareth Emery. Many of his original songs and remixes have reached the top of several categories on the Beatport charts. Progressive house, trance, and techno all come together in his music.
At a young age, Fax was exposed to various musical genres, but he has always had a soft spot for rock bands like Queen, Scorpions, AC/DC, and French performers. Later, he discovered Tiesto, who inspired him to become a DJ, and Joachim Garraud, who opened his eyes to the world of electronic music production. As a result of his sibling's influence, he is also familiar with hard rock. At 13, he began producing and releasing his first tracks under the alias David R. He received early backing from Laurent Garnier, who played his tune "Technicolor" in a few of his shows.
Matt released far less music in 2017 than in previous years. Pete Tong of BBC Radio 1 and Avicii of LE7ELS gave the EP Circles/Aura Lusia their full support after its release on February 3. With his subsequent single "Phantom," Armin van Buuren played it on his radio show A State of Trance. He performed at the Bypass club in Geneva alongside Madeon, Aazar, and Kristian Nairn throughout the year.
