Marlon Williams (December 31, 1990) is a New Zealand actor, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. At 17, Williams co-founded The Unfaithful Ways with his high school pals Sebastian Warne and Ben Woolley and the school's physics instructor, Simon Brouwer. After playing the Big Day Out and receiving a New Zealand Music Award nomination in 2011, they became a household name nationwide. 2011, Williams began playing alongside Delaney Davidson, a well-known country singer.
Williams relocated to Melbourne, Australia, in the middle of 2013 and quickly began doing solo shows around town, releasing the live album Live At La Niche independently, touring Australia with other American performers Robert Ellis and Cory Chisel, and attending the Mullumbimby Music Festival. During this time, he called the Yarra Hotel in the Melbourne neighborhood of Abbotsford home.
In the spring of 2014, he started working on his first solo album. Even though they were based in Melbourne, they spent a year at a Lyttelton studio tracking the album. That same year, he formed the backing band, The Yarra Benders, after the hotel and bar where they all worked and lived. Gus Agars, Dave Khan, Ben Woolley, and former guitarist Dan Parsons make up the Yarra Benders. Williams launched his first self-titled solo album in April 2015, and it quickly rose to the top of the New Zealand album chart and the top 31 on Australia's ARIA album chart, receiving rave reviews all around.
