Maddie and Tae Information
Maddie & Tae is an American female country music duo based in Nashville, Tennessee. The current lineup of the group consists of Tylor Kerr (née Dye) (guitar and background vocals) and Madison Font (née Marlow) (lead vocals, guitar, mandolin). In 2014, the pair got signed to the resurrected Dot Records. "Fly," "Sierra," "Shut Up and Fish," and "Girl in a Country Song" are among the hits from their debut album, Start Here, which was released on August 28, 2015.
Maddie & Tae signed with Mercury Nashville in 2018 after the collapse of Dot. In April 2020, they released their second studio album for this label, The Way It Feels. On March 25, 2021, they released a completely new album. On the Country Airplay chart for the week ending July 19, 2014, their single "Girl in a Country Song" debuted at number 58. It became the first debut song by a female pair to reach number 1 since The Wreckers' "Leave the Pieces" in 2006, and only the second in history, after reaching number 1 for the chart dated December 20, 2014.
On November 4, 2014, Maddie & Tae released their self-titled EP. "Girl in a Country Song" was included, as well as three new songs such as "Your Side of Town," "Fly," and "Sierra." Maddie and Tae appeared in an episode of the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World called "Girl Meets Texas, Part 2," which aired on October 17, 2015. In March 2016, on their first visit to the UK, they performed on the main stage of the C2C: Country to Country festival at The O2 Arena.
