Liza Anne is an expressive American singer-songwriter who weaves modest but strong accompaniment around her atmospheric and emotionally compelling tales of love and tragedy. Liza Anne Odachowski was born on February 3, 1994, in St. Simons Island, Georgia. At the age of eight, Liza Anne first discovered her love for music, inspired by her aunt, an artist whose husband was a guitarist and luthier.
After receiving mixtapes of artists like Joni Mitchell and Fleetwood Mac from her aunt and uncle, Liza Anne began creating songs at 14. When she was a teenager, she got a job as a barista at a coffee shop, where she periodically gave performances to the customers, at first singing cover songs until she dared to sing her compositions. After high school, Liza Anne's uncle helped her construct an electric guitar, and she subsequently enrolled at Belmont University in Nashville to study songwriting.
She met Zachary Dyke, a fellow Belmont student interning at a music studio. Dyke was given access to the studio when it was not in use, and it was at this period that he recorded and co-produced Liza Anne's first album, The Colder Months, released in 2014. After the album came out, Liza Anne dropped out of school to devote herself full-time to music, where she has since built a dedicated fan base with her powerful live performances and introspective songwriting.
