Livingston Information
The London-based rock band Livingston first came together in 2002. Beukes Willemse, Jan Siekmann, Chris van Niekerk, Jakob Nebel, and Phil Magee make up the band. With the release of their third album, Animal, set for the fall of 2014, Livingston will have released two albums thus far. "Sign Language" was the band's debut album, and the singles "Broken" and "Go" were financial successes in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, which led to the band's breakthrough.
After their split from Universal Music, the band chose to self-release a second acoustic EP via the crowdfunding platform Pledgemusic since they were getting back on their feet. After that, in 2012, the band recorded and released the EP. The band's third album was started in 2013 after original member Paolo Serafini quit at the end of 2012. The four spent numerous weeks in 2013 at a modest home located 100 miles south of Berlin, affectionately called "The House on the Hill" by the band.
At this point, they resolved to do everything by themselves, including composing, recording, producing, and mixing and would release something to the public when it was complete. During this period, they crossed paths with Jan Siekmann, a drummer who had previously played with the German band Bakkushan. The band inked a new contract with independent label SPV GmbH in March. May 2014 saw the release of the first single, "Human," throughout Europe. Fall 2014 is when the album Animal was set to be released.
