Linda Davis Information
Linda Kaye Davis (November 26, 1962) is an American singer. She was born and grew up in Dodson, Texas. She sang for the first time on a local radio show in public when Davis was only six years old. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 20 and got a chance to collaborate with Skip Eaton. They both formed a duo soon called Skip & Linda. They also signed a record deal with MDJ Records and released three minor singles on the Billboard country charts. Skip & Linda also started performing at a piano bar located inside a Sheraton hotel. She was soon discovered by a record producer Bob Montgomery while performing at the hotel.
Davis released her debut solo chart record through Epic Records in 1988. The release was followed by her next release in 1991 named, In a Different Light, through Liberty Records. There were only two charting singles included in the album. Davis also co-wrote the title track for Dawn Sear’s debut album entitled What a Woman Wants to Hear.
Davis also collaborated with Anne Murray’s “You Needed Me” for a cover version and Lulu Roman. It was even released on Roman’s 2013 album entitled, At Last. She went on a tour with country singer Kenny Rogers in 2013 and 2015.
Davis is one of the lucky artists inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009. She won Grammy for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song and the Best Contemporary Christian Album as a part of the Scott Family’s album entitled Love Remains. Throughout her career, Davis has won three Grammy awards.
