Laura Pausini OMRI (May 16, 1974) is an Italian singer. Her 1993 first single, "La solitudine," became a classic in Italy and a worldwide smash, catapulting her to stardom and earning her the rookie artists' section at the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival. She achieved worldwide fame by publishing her self-titled debut album in Italy on April 23, 1993. It went on to sell two million copies worldwide.
Pausini has recorded sixteen studio albums, two worldwide best hits compilations, and a single album tailored exclusively to the Anglophone market. Although Italian and Spanish are her primary performing languages, she has also recorded and sung in German, English, Catalan, Neapolitan, Romagnol, Sicilian, Latin, Chinese, and French.
She has amassed many music accolades, both domestically and abroad, over her career. She took up the trophy for Best Latin Pop Album in 2006 for her album Escucha. Her 2021 film The Life Ahead single "Io sì (Seen)" was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song.
Celebrating her 30-year career, the Italian musician performed classics and famous songs during three performances in Venice's Piazza San Marco on June 30, July 1 and 2, 2023, and two shows in Seville's Plaza de España on July 21 and 22, 2023.
On October 27, 2023, Pausini released his fifteenth studio album, Anime Parallele, also known as Parallel Souls, on a global level. The CD includes Laura and Paolo Carta's wedding song, Davanti a te, their first wedding vows in song.
