La Compagnie Creole is a popular French pop band based in French Guiana and the French West Indies. The band began to perform gigs in the 1980s. The current lineup of the group consists of Clémence Bringtown (December 17, 1948) (vocals), Arthur Apatou (June 6, 1951) (guitar), José Sébéloue (September 17, 1948) (guitar, vocals, percussion), Julien Tarquin (September 16, 1948) (bass and vocals), Jean-Marc Vivenza (December 26, 1957) (keyboard, intonarumori, percussion), and Guy Bevert (February 18, 1949) (drums, vocals, percussion).
La Compagnie Creole started singing initially in Creole, but soon they adopted French quickly and made it their primary language. The band has a happy-go-lucky and feel-good quality, which can be felt in all of their songs. Most of the band’s records have been produced by Daniel Vangarde.
La Compagnie has released several notable albums since they have started singing. The famous studio albums include Megamix (1990), Bon anniversaire maman (1990), La Bonne Aventure (1989), Soca Party sur la plage (1986), Sans chemise sans pantalon (1986), Ca fait rire les oiseaux (1986), and Bons baisers de Fort de France (1984).
