KSHMR Information
Niles Hollowell Dhar (October 6, 1988) is an Indian-American musician and record producer born in Berkeley, California, better known by his stage name, Kshmr. He is also one half of the hip-hop production duo, The Cataracs, which he formed with his high school friend David Singer-Vine. The two released a few hits such as “Like a G6” with Far East Movement and “Bass Down Low” with DEV. He also co-produced other work, such as the second song of Selena Gomez’s debut album entitled Stars Dance. Until 2014, Kshmr continued producing music under the name The Cataracs, after the departure of Singer-Vine’s in 2012.
Kshmr started making electro house music under his new alias in 2014. He charted on Beatport with his new name. His first single, “Megalodon,” was released on Spinnin’ Records on February 24, 2014. He collaborated with R3hab and released a single “Karate” charted in SNEP, the French Single Chart, in March 2015. Kshmr collaborated with DallasK and released a single entitled “Burn.” The single brought prominence for him as it reached the Top 40 chart on Beatport and eventually hit number 1.
Kshmr released his debut studio album entitled “Harmonica Andromeda” on March 19, 2021. His notable extended plays include Parades (July 7, 2015), The Lion Across The Field (May 13, 2016), and Materia (August 4, 2017). As a lead artist, there is a long list of singles that Kshmr has released so far, including “No Heroes,” “Burn,” “Karate,” and “Dead Mans Hand.”
