Kristofer Kristofferson, is an America singer, songwriter, and actor from Brownsville, Texas. His father pushed wanted Kris to become a military serviceman, like his grandfather, but fate would have it otherwise. In his early working life years, Kris was an aspiring writer. His work included fictional writing and essays, some of which earned him prizes. Two of his compositions, The Rock and Gone Are the Days got published in The Atlantic Monthly.
As a songwriter, Kris is credited for writing songs like Me and Bobby McGee, Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down, Help Me Make It Through the Night, and For the Good Times. All these songs were big hits for the artists that sang and released them.
Kris also has several songs he wrote and sang, in collaboration with the Nashville-based songwriter Shel Silverstein. He was also a member of the country music group The Highwaymen alongside other country musicians Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings. Kris Kristofferson got inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
As far as acting goes, he has starred in films like Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, A Star Is Born, Blade, and Heaven’s Gate. He got the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role in A Star Is Born.
