Kikuo (September 21, 1988) is a producer who creates a combination of energetic and gloomy music that characterizes his tracks. His meticulous attention to detail, combined with his innovative use of instrumental textures, harmonies, and sound effects, gives his music a distinct sound. Additionally, his music is notoriously experimental, drawing inspiration from various musical traditions and styles worldwide and featuring an array of unusual instruments.
In 2003, he started making music and initially uploaded his tracks to online forums. In 2009, he eventually acquired enough money from making Touhou songs to quit college and focus on music full-time. He lived alone after that. 'Voices of Svaahaa' was his 2021 single. For the rhythm game CHUNITHM, he helped compose the song "Spider's Thread" alongside Vocaloid producer Cosmo.
His 2022 appearances include a cameo in "Ultimate Diva: Virtual Singer Hatsune Miku" (a documentary by NHK). Kikuo recently performed 12 gigs around the United States on a tour from January 9 to January 27, 2024. During this period, he made history as the first Vocaloid producer to finish a tour across the United States. He had never toured before; this was his first trip to the United States.
