At age 6, Julia began taking piano lessons, and her teachers introduced her to songwriting. Beginning in 2011, Julia recorded songs at Redbird Studio for Radian Records, where she worked until the release of her debut album, "Julia Klot," in 2014. Since then, she has become a regular at prestigious New York City venues such as The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Mercury Lounge, Pianos, and Arlene's Grocery.
Julia's follow-up and second studio album is a compelling story about homesickness and a fresh start "Brooklyn" (2019). The album was recorded at the Purchase College Conservatory of Music. Her latest EP, "Ghost," has a more peaceful and soulful sound, and its lyrics convey stories about the ebb and flow of relationships.
