Juana Rosario Molina (October 1, 1961) is an Argentine actress, singer, and songwriter. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a sketch comedy actress in the 1990s, Juana y sus hermanas, the daughter of tango singer Horacio Molina and actress Chunchuna Villafae, found recognition.
She left her acting profession at its peak to concentrate on her music career. Later that year, in 1996, she published her first album, Rara, which was panned by local critics who missed her presence on television. She was so discouraged by the negative feedback that she relocated to Los Angeles, where her music had garnered more positive reviews, and there she learned to play electronic instruments.
She then returned to Buenos Aires to record her follow-up album, Segundo, which features some of the new sounds she had been exposed to. Her music, characterized by layered loops of acoustic and electronic sounds, has grown in complexity with each subsequent release. After an unfavorable reception at home, Molina has seen widespread praise from music reviewers for her entire discography.
