Jordan Mackenzie Smith (November 4, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is from Harlan, Kentucky. He began to sing in his church choir and continued through his college education at Lee University. In 2012, he won the competition at the annual Poke Sallet festival called the Poke Sallet Ido competition. Smith gained national recognition in 2015 when he won season nine of the popular single competition, The Voice. He was also the show’s first artist to reach No. 1 in sales of pop songs in the iTunes Store.
In December, after Smith’s victory at The Voice, his first collection of songs came out entitled The Voice: Jordan Smith: The Complete Season 9 Collection. The album entered the Billboard 200 album chart, reached number 11, and earned the “Hot Shot Debut” honors. He returned to his hometown, Kentucky, where the Secretary of State named Smith a Kentucky Colonel. He was announced as grand marshal of the Kentucky Derby Festival in January 2016.
Jordan Smith performed “You Are So Beautiful” alongside David Foster at the 42nd People’s Choice Awards on January 6, 2016. He released his debut studio album, Something Beautiful, on March 18, 2016. The album also debuted at number 2 in sales in the iTunes Store. Deadpool 2 soundtrack “Ashes” was also written by Smith, announced via his Instagram account on May 3, 2018. His other notable studio albums include ‘Tis the Season (October 28, 2016) and Only Love (August 10, 2018).
