Jenny Oaks Baker Information
Jenny Oaks Baker (May 27, 1975) is an American violinist and former member of the National Symphony Orchestra born in Provo, Utah. Baker started playing the violin when she was four. In 1983, she made her orchestral debut at eight. During her childhood, Baker won several major competition awards. In 1998, her first album came out entitled “On Wings of Song.” FCMA awarded two Pearl Awards to this release.
Several of Baker’s albums have been listed on Billboard charts. She has performed at numerous famous venues as a soloist, including the Library of Congress, Strathmore Hall, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Jerusalem Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, and San Diego Symphony.
Baker has been featured nationally in several television and radio broadcasts. She has collaborated with many notable artists, including Condoleezza Rice, Mike Masse, Kurt Bestor, Lisa Hopkins Seegmiller, Marvin Hamlisch, and Gladys Knight.
In 2007, Jenny Oaks Baker served as a judge for the Stradivarius International Violin Competition. She performed as the first violinist for seven years in the National Symphony Orchestra, although she resigned in 2007 to have more family time. She has only made one film appearance in her career, Christmas Eve, in 2015.
Baker’s notable solo albums include Epic (2020), The Spirit of God (2018), Awakening (2016), My Home Can Be a Holy Place (2015), Classic: The Rock Album (2014), Noel: Carols of Christmas Past (2012), and Wish Upon a Star: A Tribute to the Music of Walt Disney (2011).
