JD Simo Information
JD Simo (1985) is an American solo artist, producer, guitarist, songwriter, and singer. He is also a former member of the rock band Simo. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and began to play guitar at the age of five. He had created a group by the age of 15 and released a live extended play that was recorded in Phoenix, Arizona. He sold over 5,000 copies of that EP. Simo spent most of his teenage life touring for his solo endeavors or in various bands.
Simo moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2006 and became the lead guitarist in the Don Kelley Band. This led Simo to be employed as a musician until 2011. Simo joined Frank Swart (bassist) and Adam Abrashoff (drummer) to form the rock band called "Simo" at the beginning of 2010. Simo joined the Mascot Label Group in June 2015. He also participated in the 100th Birthday celebration for Les Paul in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and worked with the label Crowesfeet Music Group.
Simo embarked on his first solo tour where he opened for Tommy Emmanuel at the beginning of 2018. He also appeared on Emmanuel's album and continued touring throughout the spring and summer. Simo was a headliner at the 50th anniversary of the Burg Herzberg Festival, which took place in Germany. He has released a few notable albums throughout his career, including Burning Live EP, One Night Stand, The Other Side of Me, J.D. Simo Live!, and Off At 11.
